The first full day at Lee Abbey did not disappoint. Yesterday was an action-packed day! The day started with a delicious cooked breakfast including eggs, hash browns, beans and toast. Alongside this, there were cereals and porridge to help fuel the day ahead. After breakfast, the children were split into 3 groups. Each group did a different activity and these will be rotated throughout the rest of the week. These included flying through the woodland on the zip wire, reaching new heights on the climbing wall, as well as crate stacking as high as possible. So much fun! Lunch was a choice of tomato pasta or macaroni cheese, with a range of fresh salad. Dinner was jerk chicken with couscous and vegetables – delicious. The summer fruit cheesecake for pudding went down extremely well.
After dinner, the children tackled the egg challenge. They used a set of resources to create a container which would protect the egg when dropped from a height. Some were successful, others… well they weren’t quite as successful and the group were expecting scrambled egg for breakfast!
Everyone certainly slept well after that action-packed day.
This morning was a selection of scrumptious pastries. Everyone is going for a walk and a picnic to enjoy the glorious sunshine. Check back tomorrow for the next update.
