Welcome to Wrens’ class page.
Welcome back to Term 2. We hope you had a lovely break and are looking forward to this term.
The children have already started the term off with a bang learning about Fireworks Night and Diwali. (The Hindu Festival of Light.)
We have enjoyed reading the story of Rama and Sita and the children have made something special that they will bring home later in the term.
They loved making edible sparklers and learning about Guy Fawkes.
This week the children have enjoyed music with Piano Pete and PE with Mr Murphy! The children were able to identify a crochet and a minim in music. In PE the children moving around the playground pretending to be characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They also balanced beanbags on their heads and threw them into the cones.
We have also loved using the Number blocks to help with our Math’s learning. The children have also been keen to show off their phonics skills and we have been impressed with how well they are getting on with their reading.
This term our topic is ‘Transport and travel and hot and cold places’. Below is a link to what the children will be learning this term.
We are really looking forward to this term and finding out about hot and cold countries. We have an AMAZING plane roleplay corner with a travel agents and check-in desk. The children have passports and boarding cards. So, while the rest of the world can’t travel Wrens Class will be jetting off to lots of lovely destinations! I will upload a photo of the role play on Tapestry for you to admire.
There is also a weekly ‘Learning Themes’ poster attached which details what the children will be learning about this week.
If you have any questions or concerns then please contact me via Tapestry or telephone the office. If you have a quick message then you can pass this on during morning drop off or afternoon pick up.
We are an Early Adopters school. In Foundation Stage we are adopting the new EYFS framework. If you would like any more information regarding the new framework then please contact your child’s class teacher.
