Welcome back to Term 6!
We have had a lovely time in term 5 learning all about the seaside and even enjoyed some warmer seaside weather!
We had a fantastic time learning about sea creatures and were very excited to have a visit from a man who works at the Whale and Dolphin trust. He told us lots of interesting facts about the whales and dolphins and we even used a piece of rope to show how large a Killer Whale is! The Rope stretched across the whole of Key Stage 1 Playground!
We have also been learning about arrays in maths. We went on a maths walk looking for arrays in our environment and then had a go at making our own arrays. We used toys and resources in our classroom and also used natural materials like leaves, sticks and rocks. Some of the children could write a multiplication fact for the arrays they had made.
In our final week before breaking up for half term the children were horrified when Talking Ted was kidnapped by pirates who left us a ransom note! The children were very worried about Talking Ted and wrote letters and solved maths problems to try and get him back!
I cannot believe that the children have been with me for almost a year!! It has flown by …. I am so looking forward to this last term and I am so proud of how well the children have settled into Redland School life. We are going to have another action packed term starting with our visit to Bristol Zoo. We will be learning about animals and plants and growing.
If you have any plants that you would like to donate to Wren class so that we can plant them in our outdoor area or if you are a keen gardener and would like to come in and talk to the children about plants and growing then please come and speak to me.
Don’t forget about Family Friday – feel free to drop in until 9.15am
