Welcome to Owls’ class page
Welcome to Term 2
We have an exciting term planned learning all about celebrations. We have transformed our role play into a birthday party and the children are having a great time making birthday cakes, wrapping presents and celebrating.
The children have loved learning about Diwali the Hindu festival of light and Bonfire night. We have been busy making Rangloi patterns, decorating hands with Mendi designs and creating colourful firework pictures using pastels. The children have also enjoyed creating patterns with coloured rice. The edible sparklers were a huge success!
We will also be reading the Nativity story and celebrating Christmas towards the end of the term. The children have already started practicing the songs for our Christmas production ‘The Big Little Nativity” which we will be recording to share with you.
The children have been loving the Forest School sessions we have been having with Mrs Thomson. We have made Autumn rainbows, houses for creatures and have learnt about fire safety.
We have recently purchased a new all singing and dancing phonics scheme called Little Wandle. There will be an online parent meeting about this during Term 2. Dates to follow. In the meantime, please head to the Little Wandle website where you can access some parent information and videos.
Our PE day is a Wednesday this term so the children will need to come to school in their PE kits they can then wear their PE kit for the whole day.
If you have any questions or worries then grab us for a quick chat at the beginning or end of the day. For longer conversations please message us on Tapestry, ring or send an email to the school. We will try and get back to you as soon as possible.
